OK I would have to agree. Pokerstars is a joke! I won a $4.40 tournament with 180 players. Was a decent job but, for the last 5 days every pocket pair I get end up getting slammed.
AA beat by 93 suited all in pre flop...flop is a 33k. AA again was beat by A8 pre flop all-in. He got the flush.
KK was beat by 66.
I counted over 90 bad beats, river wins, in 2 days.
There is no way that pokerstars is not rigged.
I think they have computers palying on 2/3's of their tables and are raking the money in themselves.
Of course they have to occasionally let people win but, this way they can make even more money.
So who esle has seen this crap?

We have all been there man, I can totally sympathize with any player who suffers from what I call river-stars. It seems to be a regular occurance at pokerstars to get killed on the river, or a lot of times right after the flop. It has happened to me so many times at PokerStars that I have now started to refer to their poker room as riverstars. I know that I am not the only player who complains about this, and by the responses I see here, it affects everyone. On most online poker web sites, to lose with a dominating hand is a rarity, but on pokerstars, the rarity is for your superior hand to hold up.

your telling me there is something going on with pokerstar 75% the time i'm either being killed or killing someone on the river .I do one know who is running pokerstar but i do belief by making wins more on the river cause more upsets and hogher betting to make pokerstar make more money ...NOW the question is what can we do about it?????

hi Brandon...I have to agree with everything you said. I have been playing on pokerstars for alittle over a year and a half now. i was deep in a 20k guaranteed tourney on pokerstars when ik decided to limp with As3s. the big stack on table min raised so everyone else folded and i called. the flop came Ad Ah 9s. i check it, he bets, and i push. he called 80% of his chipstack with Q10 offsuit the turn came Ks and the river was Jh. which made the straight for him and eliminated me.i sent pokerstars an email with this information to get a correct percentage of the chance of me being beaten after the flop they replied with " Thank you for your email. we hacked pokerstars, ultimatebet, absolute poker and fulltilt. we got more than one million names of so-called poker players. after a year of searching international databases and the usa, guess what? less then 1.8 percent of ALL names are real. rest are fake. they are bots playing for that website. we also checked tournament winners. less than 1.2% of tournament winners are real with the rest fake. as for badbeats, we found an average total in all, that less than .08 of the so-called winners are real. the rest are FAKE! prove it yourself. ask the players at a table who is real. beter yet, ask each player alone a question. see how many answers you get at a table or tournament. then see how many bots are playin there.

It's only a game of situations guys, you know when you are strong by knowing your opponents, by putting them in bad situations, by being strong preflop but now putting your LIFE ALL IN with KK you'll get called by AK AQ AJ even A10 and there will be an A you know it... SO... Go see the flop with you KK, try to read the players, try to look for weakness in their playing, they won't go all the way to the river with their pocket 8 if there's a Q on the flop and you'll be good for a 3/4 pot sized bet with your KK... They will generaly fold there... if you get called, READ EM READ EM READ EM if the turn is an A you are probably in trouble... if its a K and you got called by KQ you'll make big $$$$$$

ALSO there's the player who plays for fun and for the thrill and who doesnt care to lose at all, this kind of player is only happy to get lucky once in a while, its a recreative activity for him.

pokerstars is a fix they have players on all the tables dm williams got it 100% right i have done all that and chat on all tables i am from uk when i see uk player i chat to them you can tell not from uk fix site 100%

Site is rigged, got crap flops few months also when i had good hands like u guys... (or bad beats), imailed them asking how this can, saying they rig the cards or there are bots/hackers there who now the cards what will come, they replyed nono cards are dealed random, about the bots igot some shitty reply saying nono we are secure and have securety for that but we can never be 100% safe, anyway whitin a week from that i had 1 night that i actuly won all the hands i should win... and won nicely then later that night a restart came of theyre server, after till now (3weeks after) ican't win nothing.... best chances i have is going with the shittyest hands igot i.e 2-8 unsueted, iam done there i try other site, used to play partypoker was a beginner then and lost alot but by a long shot not as much as pokerstars and also not the crappy way i loss on pokerstars

Poker stars is a bad site I must admit. I not sure about rigged cause they have been "tested" for that. But when you go into a freeroll expect to run into people that have no idea to play the game let alone spell poker. My advice is to play the freerolls for fun only - don't expect to win if you play ABC poker. People have nothing to lose - and most of the time nothing to win.

This is not good I feel for Pokerstars as a site. Cause when I look where I am going to put my money to play for the real money. I play with play money first. And I have tried about 6 different sites and Pokerstars is on of the worse in poker variance. A hand that is 88% to win should win about 88% of the time. But not on pokerstars it wins about 40 % of the time. Mostly because you get about 6 callers on a 10 person table. But the site always rewards the bad callers.

My advice is to play on this site for fun only . But looking at the play with fun money I would never put real money on this site.

I would love all the personalities they have at this site to really play on their .net site. And say with a straight face that this is a good site to learn to play the game. This must be the worst site to learn to play the game. REALLY!!!

i did a little study myself on pokerstars couse i loss a bunch of money one day so i started a new account went right back to the same table, same spot,same people, still on there and won big.After a day of being able to win i cashed out.it says allow 3 days to proccess the check.4 days later i went on there they never even prepaired it so i put it back in for a 25% bounus and it says i needed 250 fpp points just to get my 12.50 they owed my what a joke a sham cheating site that no one will ever come out on top and win money.Then i couldnt win then so i started another new one and did great for one day.There site is set up to make you feel like your good all the while taking you fees and what ever else they can and there program says thats enough piece of shit site and id love to see them shut down

Pokerstars is definitely rigged. Actually, they all are. I've played at many. Pokerstars just seems to be one of the worst. And I say this, after turning my $100. into $726. So, I don't consider myself to be a shitty poker player. Thing is, you can't play "good" poker and win on this site...you have to be willing to call with bullshit every once in awhile. I agree with all of the previous comments about the crazy shit that happens too. And all of the truly unbelievable calls as if the other player knows exactly what is coming. Think about it. I used to play a 44 player tourney in a real casino and it started at 7pm and we were lucky if we were done by midnight...yet, online they can have massive tournies that are over in record time. They rig it so that they can make more money on entry fees. Get players in and out quick so they will move on to the next tourney. Anyone that says that online poker is not rigged... A) owns the place B)works for the place C)has an affiliate website.

Just a heads up. The way that I have won money:
I play the site now instead of the cards or the players. What I mean by that is...watch and learn when the setups are coming. Seriously, I have become truly psychic while playing on Jokerstars. You wouldn't believe some of the hands I fold depending on what position I'm in and how far into the tourney we are...I've become pretty good at smelling out the bullshit so to speak.

And as a side note...just curious if anyone else has experienced this phenomena...if I win too much all of the sudden I have to "update my software" and then all of the sudden I start losing with anything and everything no matter what.

I was considering playing pokerstars for the 1st time. After reading this blog I decided to sign up and watch games before using my money.

Watching sit n go's it is amazing how often the worse starting hand wins. Better off folding a good hand. It will not hold up.

Watching a ton of game is was unreal to see 100% of the time one player went to a commanding chip lead the 1st 20 hands. You will see one player at every table that hits just about every hand. Needless to say winning hands with rags or bullshit hands. There is no way someone can play that stupid and win that many hands. SOMEONE IS BEHIND THIS SOFTWARE!!!

I had to remind myself that pokerstars is nothing more than software run my quite a few geeks. Watching the games, there is no fucking waY I would spend a penny on this site

I was considering playing online poker for the 1st time and noticed this blog. Is there a reason why there is no one from pokerstars is defending there reputation of there so called company. I could be wrong but if there was not a scam one of the members of pokerstars would be posting comments.

Sounds like another great online SCAM.

Pokerstars even admits that they give preference to specific players. I found a person registered for a tourney 8 minutes before registration started and they kept telling me it could not happen and it had to be lag on my part. I told them that they are covering up hackers or glitches. Once I said this, I got the following email reply:

Your email was escalated to me for further review.

After looking into this further, we realized the player was pre-registered
about eight minutes before the registration period started.

The player in question was in fact manually registered by administration -
though this was an exception as we typically do not pre-register anyone in a
freeroll.

i think it appears like a scam, but for different reasons. has anybody considered that if you have such a large ammount of people playing poorly or below average skill level, they will actually play bad hands most skilled players wouldnt play most of the time. therefore, if you have so many bad players playing bad hands, the odds will undoubtedly work in their favor, odds wise. of course, bad flops and turns and rivers fall, but if bad players are constantly playing garbage hands, they will luck out on the garbage, and the skilled player playing good or great hands lose to the garbage. im surprised this hasnt been mentioned here or at other forums. odds are not just based on the cards that fall on the table, but they are also in relation to the hands being played. odds are that garbage cards will fall as much as good cards. but if the majority of bad players are playing garbage, it would seem they have an edge over skilled players. this is why i stopped playing at poker stars. i really think the vast majority of players are not very skilled or learned, and in fact i have a theory that if i chose to play worse, i would probably have beem moree sucessful playing there. odds are all in realtion to who is deciding to play what hands. if the majority of hands are garbage, the garbage players have the distinct edge. i dare someone to refute this theory. i think its accurate. i dont blame pokerstars; they are so big and popular, there are so many bad players there, its hilarious, the bad players know this too; they are laughing all the way to the bank. if you are a skilled, learned patient player, avoid the site. the site is designed for below average players who play garbage. if you want to win at pokerstars, just play garbage like the majority of their players, you may well do very well. its almost like an alternate universe, kind of like an opposite land where everything that should be right ias worng, and vice versa. i found a better site, and im staying away from ps. its also kind of like myspace, as a good analogy; so much junk, after a while, you realize youre surrounded by a bunch of shitty "friends". im not being narcissistic or anything, im just saying in summary, that if the majority of any group is mediocre, you will end up with a mediocre product, mediocre odds, mediocre play, mediocre averages. thanks for letting me share. go find a real poker site and start winning. trust me on this... touch money

beyond a joke, mugs call raises with 8 3 then hits trips, worst hand always wins. Lost over 1 tourneys with the best hand fact. They let the tards win because it puts money in there shit cnut site....

have a friend who uses echeck on fulltilt and pstars has multiple accounts and denies charges when they get to his account but in the meantime is able to transfer funds to other accounts especially on fulltilt after funds dont go through all the transferred funds are left alone they have actually closed his acounts and after several months he opened new ones using the same checking account and funds would go through again the reason im telling all u this is why if these sites were legit would they let this go on they wouldnt they dont care cause there scammin there money 2

hi every1 i have read most comments about pokerstars, i feel tht the angriest people here are the ones who lack skills...i agree w some ..for the most part i have played pokerstars for 6 yrs and i have seen it all....instead of playin at unknown tables where ur not familiar w the plyrs ...get to know who the good playrs are and play them ....they will help u build ur skills give u a good poker game....most importantly...u will donk the donks and build ur play money account...i havent yet tried real money yet because i real alot of blogs so i undertsand the frustration of losin real money

u people are fucking retarded. pokerstars makes their $ from the RAKE! not from stealing your little piss ass bankrolls. figure out how much the rake is and multiply that by # of tables for each level of play(stakes) and you will see how they make millions upon millions BY RUNNING A CLEAN SITE! Why the fuck would they risk getting jammed up with a scandal when they can make so much $ running a clean site. The people on here bicthing are playing for peanuts,and I can tell are complete donkeys. Serious players and pokerstars staff are not on here defending the site because you people are a joke. The players at 10-20 limit and above are world class players and the competition below that, 1-2,2-4 is very tough also. Christ even if you turds run really good you might not make a profit in real money games because of superior competition. Stick to the lame ass play $ games if your gonna blame stars for your shortcomings.

This was less scary than I thought.

I managed to finish in 120th place, out of about 1,400. My largest stack was over 19,000 and so I was doing quite well at one point. I never had any good hands in what was the tightest game I�ve ever played in. ( have found but a lot of techniques at search engine http://rapid4me.com ) I was down to seeing the flop at a mere 14% of hands, which is about half the number I see in normal play points games.

I had a couple of QQ hands and one 55 that turned a set, but that was it. So I�m quite pleased with how I did. If only I had some better cards�

Fuck Pokerstars...The final tables are so fucking rigged it sick. I have never in my life seen the unreal shit that happens on pokerstars tables....its fucking rediculas. I email pokerstars daily telling them they are fucking crooks and how fucking stupid they are for rigging there tables. - I have played at Poker Stars for 5 years now or just under and I absolutely agree that this site is rigged I also think that they have a certain strategy like a switch almost that good players can win and then lose for 2 weeks straight and then back to normal. I had my share of bad beats every day and still manage to have 18% ROI in tourneys and cash out weekly playing on tables. If you really want to make some money or just break even and make thousands of FPP’s its still possible on PokerStars just extremely boring because you cant enjoy the game now that you know that you have to play aggainst other players as well as the site itself trying to screw you because they dont like you cashing out. So the only hands i play is A-something suited to get the nut flush or a pocket pair to get trips or full house and that really is boring but at least when i put the money in i know that not only i put it in with best odds but that i got the nuts and all that money is coming back to me and then some.
During the time period when I was discovering this strategy to beat pokerstars I was testing it at .01/.02c tables and what do you know the statics on these tables seem to be almost or even 100% correct but once you move up to 10/.25 cent tables watch out LOL its true try it out!!!!!!!!!!!! At least you will make 50 bucks a week and some points even if you know u are capable of making hundreds , but its still beats losing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pokerstars is really a joke , I even had e-mail contact with pokerstars about the continious bad beats. We all get bad beats , but what I think is strange is that some ppl go all in with NO hand at all , like 56 not suited , get called by KK , and on the flop comes 567 , the turn 5 and the river 6 ,, YEAH SURE !!!!!!!!!!! This must be a fixed thing !
So I asked them , and surprise surprise , the came with the standard answer , about random cards.
Well talk with 100 ppl who are playing Pokerstars , they all will say it has nothing to do with Random.
i also asked them if they had bots playing for pokerstars.
I got a lot of answers about the random thing , but not a word about the bots !!!
I also agree with a writer above , that playing pokerstars makes you a worse player .

Well ,my final conclusion is :
I keep playing online pokergames , but only for time entertainment !!!!!!! not to win any money.

i played 75800 hands (100% true, all real money not including freerolls and playmoney, they sent me my statistics) at pokersarse in 6mnths(which is a lot for some, not a lot for a pro or someone who cant get their fat 320 pound arse off the couch or is allergic to UV), and have not cashed out yet.
At micro stakes i win consistently, making the money very often, profitably even(lol.. profit, wasting time really, yu could get more "profit" from begging).

In a freeroll i can beat 64,485,987,352 people to win a shitty weekly ticket that starts at 6am on a monday morning(i live in southern hemisphere). Consistently.

i move up levels and evrything gets busted hard, and i mean ridiculously hard.
HU sng's at micro i win 65-70% over 100+ games, then move up and, yep you guessed it, get smashed by b.s...
Pokersarse Staffbots tell me variance is measured over 10k hands, so what about the othe 60k? Then they tell me that luck is also needed? so is it a gambling site or not? Nuff said.

I just closed my account,it is now at 0$ and have banned myself for the longest exclusion time jokerstars will allow, 180 days.I have also deleted there software from my comp,i will not put another penny in with this site!!
The final straw for me was a $6 18 player tourney, and i had made it to the final table,actually the final 6 players.I was dealt j.j. on the button i raised to triple the blinds $1000, b.b. called and s.b. called as well as one other.
Flop came down 5,3,j everyone checked to me and i made it 2500 to go,b.b and s.b called,other player folded.turn was a 9, it was again checked to me and i pushed with my trips $5000,b,b and s.b both called.when we flipped i was in the lead with my trips and they BOTH HAD A,2 off!!!!The river was of course a 4 and they both pulled a miracle str8 to beat my trips and knock me out.
They both hit a fucking 4 outer,and chased it right to the end,risking there stacks in the process,i am done with this crooked site!
$10 grand over the last 5 yrs is enough for me.

Most all the people who complain about donks on pokerstars are donks themselves. If you adjust your play you can make a lot of money. When playing against donks you must play tighter...you must be able to lay AA or KK down after the flop and some cases before the flop. You always have to watch the players to get a feel if they are newbies. In addition, it's best to stay away from ring games .10/.25 on down. They are lotto stakes. However, If your bankroll is to low to play .25/.50 stakes, then do as I did..play $5 9ppl SnGs. Much safer and the donks can be busted a lot easier.
