Mollified != Satisfied

My lost bag was just delivered to me at work. Comical because the guy that called me is like “I wanted to make sure you were home” – uwah? It’s 11:07 in the morning… no one from AA told me they found the bag. In fact, I got the claim form that they faxed over to me land in my inbox this morning.

Rather than run home, he just met me here – nice touch that – but I’m still carrying a lot of angst on my back for this one.

I had a feeling it would show up today.

Why? Because I bought a replacement Wii power adapter last night.

How sure was I about the bag? Sure enough that I didn’t open the package on the adapter last night so that I could return it tomorrow.

Honest, I considered that. In fact, I counted on it. I thought I’d depend on Randy’s Law of Technology rather than be burned by it. What Law? The Law that says if I buy something technological there is an 80% chance of it blowing up, melting, or being rendered obsolete within a 48 hour period after the purchase. Lots of data to support it, but I won’t get into it now.

Anyway, I figured that if I bought something electronic because of this problem, the problem would be resolved with 48 hours, making me burn money on now-useless products. So I bought it but left it unopened. Stacking the deck, I guess you could call it.

Guess I can’t bitch about it any more. Or can I?

All of the problems I had with the process remain. The process is still broken. For future flights, this will still be a potential problem.

I’m mollified – not satisfied – with the end result.

At least now I get to see what I would have claimed – I’m still not 100% certain of what was in the bag.
