Jeep! Jeep! Jeep!

Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Jeep!

My Jeep made it here today. The top stayed up for 3.14 minutes. I haven’t seen a cloud in the sky all day, today, and it’s supposed to be like this for the next few days, so it’s staying down. Of course, 520 congratulated me on the Jeep’s arrival by forcing me to stay in it for an hour on the commute home.

Tomorrow, me and Jeep try the route of i-90 for a change of pace…

  1. Yeah, but like 520 always seems to suck when it’s sunny and I checked the flow maps (but this happened after the run to the UPS store and 1/2 after I checked) :) I’ll just be taking 90 home, I think.

  2. 520 sucks no matter what getting across the water. if there is an M’s game I-90 will be even worse. well, maybe not this season.

  3. Only if NY or Boston are in town, I think, especially since Interleague-at-home is over now… I do like 520 to get to work – most people aren’t on it that early in the morning – but at 5:30-6… oi. At least I’m getting off the campus without three or four U-turns now :)

  4. But getting from The Campus to I-90 is no piece of cake, either. I am looking out my window at the parking lot “formerly known as 405” right now.

    There’s no easy way home.

But isn’t the scenery beautiful on 520? Altho all this talk about the weather and being able to drive topless is pushing the envelope.

  5. Actually, 520 reminds me very much of my own Merritt Parkway: scenic, winding (translation: fun to drive), and bottle necked by a bridge from 5-7pm most week nights. Made me feel right at home :)

I did take i90 to i5 last night. Getting to i90 was interesting – more country side than I expected in Bellevue – and not too bad. i90 itself was stop and go, but more go than stop. Then I hit the “tunnels” on i90 – bit loud with no top on (translation: scared the crap outta me b/c I wasn’t expecting it) – and i5 was OK. The only major hiccup was the “oops, I can’t get to my [normal] exit” which made me go further north than I expected… still took less time than 520 did the day before it.

Of course, all of this is why I don’t plan to live in downtown when I’m outta temp housing… I go apartment hunting tomorrow, so I’ll at least get to see what’s out there.
