It’s Beginning To Look Like Christmas?

Doom 3. Halo 2. Grand Theft Auto 5. *w00t!*

re Doom 3: I wasn’t too excited about this. Of course I played Doom back in the day, but I like Heretic with it’s IPX/SPX multi-player DeathMatch better than the single player Doom. I followed id‘s progress on Doom 2, Hexen, Quake, and Quake 2 – they were neat but Heretic had some of the best gaming action, especially with the Phoenix Rod and Morph Ovum combo blow. Nothing better than turning your opponent into a chicken and then frying them. Then Steve showed me a special that focused on Doom 3, from TechTV – wow. Just wow. And since it was on sale at Fry’s, I figured, “What the hell?” and picked it up. Haven’t installed it yet tho – XP SP2 is a higher priority to get installed – but I expect that I’m going to enjoy it.

re Halo 2: Yes, I’m on the beta. No, I won’t tell you about it. In fact, I haven’t told anyone (outside the beta) anything about it, and it’s going to stay that way. What I can tell you is that I will be buying this game come November at the first place I can find it, company store or not.

re GTA 5: Xbox or PS2? I hope they both come out the same time, because I’d like to take this game over to the Xbox (I’ve got 3 and 4 on PS2, since they came out before the Xbox versions and sorta refuse to buy them a second time) but I know I’ll pick it up on the first system it hits. I have high hopes for this game as well, seeing as Rockstar Games has produced some kick ass stuff, on par with id and Bungie. Should be good.

Ah… Christmas is looking swell this year indeed.

  1. Oh. And for the bot that just tried to spam me with hentai-video… interesting thing happened when I upgraded to 2.661 of MT – the Comments URL is broken! It keeps showing a URL that points back to the comment, so while normal users can’t add links, neither can bots… glass is 1/2 full on that one.

  2. I don’t even know if I can comment on the enjoyment factor, but I’ll leave my “buying this game come November at the first place I can find it” comment as it stands (means I’m willing to pay full price… or at least Fry’s-discounted-for-the-first-week price!)

Personally, I’m glad they didn’t ask the “Why do you want to work for Microsoft?” question on the interview… I doubt “I want on the Halo Beta program” would have been a good answer :)

  3. Hehe I just recently got an Xbox for myself, though my roomate has had one. I never really got into the whole Halo thing til just a few weeks ago. It’s better than I gave it credit for, and after seeing the trailer for Halo2 several months ago, I’m at least looking forward to it–especially if it’s on Live.
