The Bon Marché is officially gone. The flirtation with the Bon-Macy’s has been put to bed – no surprise in that – and as near as I can tell, almost all Federated Department Stores owned stores are now simply called Macy’s; they also own Bloomingdale’s and as strong as the Macy’s brand is, Bloomies has a cult following on it’s own.
Lot of Ranting lately… either the public is getting progressively dumber or I’m stressed to my maximum limit which tends to make me cranky. Given that I spent the last eight months here, and didn’t have much to Rant about, I’m betting my stress level has worn down my stupidity tolerance. What stress you ask? I had my taxes done, spent three weekends packing (or drunk), am blowing away all sense of the budget I had in mind for townhouse and home improvements, had my Jetta hit in a parking lot, and have fought with more machines at work (and lost) than I think I have for the last two years combined.
Anyway, since it’s still the Lenten season – and today is Friday – I decided to pop over to Red Robin for lunch today. On my way back from picking up more moving boxes, actually… it just doesn’t end. Saw this story on the national news today, about a 14 year old kid that shot his school bus driver. The most we ever did to our bus driver is exit the bus all at once in a form of protest. Well, that and one kid once threw a watermelon on the bus, but even then, it was mostly harmless. Anyway, it seems that they don’t want to try him as an adult… feh! For the love of God… can notebook makers spend a little bit more money – like an extra $5 per model – for parts and the design of a keyboard? You know, one that a ham-hock-handed user can pound on and not be heard typing on from 30 feet away? Especially while sitting in a conference room… and constantly distracting everyone around you because ya can’t hear the speaker over the constant clanking?! Is your email that fuckin’ important?!?!?!

Every conference should be available by remote video. This kinda crap is worse than the movies!
America: One exposed Jackson breast during a live broadcast causes a political-infused witch hunt to make all things media-related “less offensive”. Some how pictures of Michael Moore’s face is still every where and I can’t think of a more offensive face to look at, but anyway… Bible thumpers thump louder than normal and old, crusty battle-axes put down their tea cups and doilies to support said witch hunts. The net result? The nation has proven yet again that we have completely lost our sense of humor, much less our sense of freedom, and needs a collective cream-pie-in-the-face or a kick in the crotch.
