Everything Old Is New Again

AOL TV News: Since 1966 WPIX in New York has had the TV yule log market to itself. Now they’ve got some competition. […] The INHD Yule log has been airing since 2003 and, since the number of HDTV owners has been doubling every year, is available to many more people each year. It will air for 24 hours starting 7 a.m. EST on Christmas. […] The WPIX Yule log will air on 10 other stations also owned by Tribune Broadcasting, and on the WGN superstation.

Long live the Yule Log!

  1. It was really cotmnrfiog to me to hear someone that knows about the “Yule Log” that used to run on Christmas Eve and Christmas. A couple years ago I asked everyone at work if they watched the Yule Log and not a single person knew what I was talking about. Growing up in Pennsylvania, it was a tradition to turn the Yule Log on for Christmas Eve at our house. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t find the Yule Log on Cape Cod, I videotaped the fire in my fireplace for a minute with the tree in the background and then repeated the clip about 60 times so I had a Yule Log movie of one hour and I could put any music I wanted to it. Thanks for sharing.
