Update: How To Disable Windows Messenger

A while ago I posted a few registry hacks that would prevent Windows Messenger from running. I opt to run MSN IM since it has more consumer related features, and other people don’t want to run it at all, yet for a few reasons, most people can’t seem to turn it off entirely! Well, I was over at BigBlueBall the other day and found a new tool – I figure it’s simply a UI that manages the registry keys – which is similar to what I do with SharpKeys – and since I got a lot of feedback on the original post, I thought I’d share the wealth! The article on it is here

  1. Thanks Randy, I’ve been wondering how to get that idiotic windows messenger to die for months since I got my new Dell.

    Take care,
