So the last episode of Dragonball GT finally aired on the Cartoon Network last night. What an ending!

I Hate People – Part V
Reuters: A Southern California man has sued MGM Mirage for preying on his gambling addiction and inducing him to borrow and lose millions of dollars at its Las Vegas casinos.
See what I mean about how lawsuits are idiotic these days? Consider this with the vendor, being American, the patriot [sarcasm] and the oreos… sad, really. You can do whatever you want and just get out of it later with the court system. And still people wonder why the US feels so “run down” and “chaotic” and “in decline” – dur!
Why aren’t people forced to take responsibility for their own actions?!
Halo 2: My Stats
Hah… pretty neat, what you can do with Flash – from Halo Impulse via Major Nelson.
A Very Simple Question
NeoWin: Microsoft announced today that it will not appeal against the European Union’s court order compelling the company to remove Windows Media Player from the Windows XP operating system in Europe.
I have a very simple question and it’s somewhat rhetorical: why doesn’t Apple have to remove iTunes and Quicktime from OS-X?

Pocket SharpMT 2.6.2
One last update (and a half) to the 2.6 version Pocket SharpMT: 2.6.2 corrects one oversight (Cut, Copy, and Paste now work product wide) and a few updates to the toolbar, so I thought it was worth it… this should be the last update for a while.
Download Pocket SharpMT 2.6.2: ZIP | ARM

*sigh*
Reuters: The family of a girl paralyzed in a car crash caused by a drunken football fan won $105 million in damages from the concessionaire that sold him beer, and the girl’s father said on Thursday the case should have far-reaching effects.
Not to take away from what the family has gone through because I can’t imagine it, but… well… what the fuck, right? I mean, does this make any amount of sense to anyone, anywhere?! I’m sorry, but the driver drank the beer. He actively got the beer. He willingly got behind the wheel of the car. He’s the one that drove. He’s the only one that should be at fault here…
What’s next? Suing the grain used to make beer because it has alcoholic effects if it’s fermented?
The Apprentice: Episode 3.1
Cosmic irony: watching 18 people get shipped to New York City to work for Donald Trump in a… Burger King. Having applied for season two of the show – and not getting accepted [thankfully! after seeing the last episodes of season one I wanted no part of the job!] – I feel pretty warmed, since I could have nailed this first task. After all, I got a job at Burger King with only one interview and I didn’t even have my high school degree at the time. I wonder they have to code some C# for the next episode? Coulda been a dream season!
And good luck to Verna who works for a Seattle-based technology company – I particularly like the fact that she didn’t dive into the rah-rah stuff on this episode, but that’s just me…
A Quandary Has Compiled
Some time during the summer Beta 1 of Visual Studio 2005 was released to the public. After having seen the new controls in the 2.0 release of the .NET Framework, I felt it was time to give SharpMT a mini-facelift. As I type this, I’m working on the first “alpha” of SharpMT 3.0… the quandary is what the hell do I do with it now?

Ah-Ha!
Ah-ha! I finally figured out what’s been irking me so much about all the Apple hype lately and it’s got nothing to do with technology.

jwz on TiVo
jwz: Those of you with Tivo may have noticed an irritating trend that the networks have started, of marking hour long shows as being 61 minutes long in the schedule. That extra minute will make Tivo skip recording a show on another channel that started at 9.
This strikes me as funny since the networks think they’re being smart while getting out played by a different PVR…

Apple’s Latest Releases
I just realized that for all of the comments and emails and IM’s that I’ve had about the Mac mini and the iPod shuffle, I never got around to posting a blurb about it here. And in spite of all the conversations I’ve on about the latest round of hardware releases from Apple, I don’t have all that much to say about it, but what I do have to say doesn’t seem to be repeated by every Apple fan I hear from.

w.Bloggar 4.0
Update for MT users: w.Bloggar has finally opted to start supporting the extra fields of MovableType with their 4.0 release… I didn’t notice if TypePad was specifically supported, but it should be, if MT3 is supported. Just an FYI for those of you that like the UI on w.Bloggar over SharpMT, since we’re all part of one big happy blogsphere – I refuse to trash talk for a bigger share of a market that doesn’t make money!
Honest! I’m still working on the port of SharpMT to the next release of the .NET Framework – seeing new blogging clients out there doesn’t stop me from writing code… lack of time stops me from writing code. And once Beta 2 comes out, I’ll have to re-check most of the code, since I’m currently using Beta 1… ideally though. I hope to get SharpMT to state where I could open up the source code for download, although I’m just toying with that idea… I’d have to clean up a bunch of stuff, too, which is boring, but if it helps to show off the new Framework… maybe… just maybe.
First Look: Comcast DVR
I’ve used TiVo for over two years now. I was wasn’t an “early adopter” for TiVo – in all honesty I was skeptical of the recording purposed and didn’t think I’d need to ever freeze live TiVo. Live and learn: I don’t want to live without it, even if I can do it. Recently I moved up to a Tivo2 box and have been less than impressed with the results… somethings were better but other things were lacking to the point of my signing up for the Comcast DVR service – I just got the box today…

Halo 2 Tip: Stop Dropping Out of Games
Here’s a typical game of Halo 2, if you blindly get matched into a “Big Team Battle”: You start to play a round. One of the two teams loses that first round. The “cry-baby” gamers from the losing team drop out of the game, leaving a team very shorthanded.
Why are people such dicks? Genetics, probably, but thankfully Bungie punishes those that have to live with a head in the shape of a penis tip:
Q: Does it count as a loss if I quit out of a ranked game early? A: Yes. You automatically get last place.
Don’t be a Deathmatch dick!
Why News Shows Need a Bitch-slapper on Staff
I’ve watched “Good Day, New York” for years. Over 15 years actually. It’s one of the few shows that I’ve missed watching during the last seven months. You can imagine that I was looking forward to catching it a few times during my vacation… and I’m glad that I did see a few episodes. Unfortunately one of the reporters that has joined the show over the last few months made me want to drop kick the TV.
