This an update to SharpMT and Pocket SharpMT 2.01 and 2.0. The 2.02 release makes a couple of minor fixes to the Upload Media dialog to both platforms and to the Edit-from-Server functionality for the desktop version – if you use either of these features you’ll want to get this update. The 2.02 version, which includes the fixes included in 2.01, can be installed over an existing 2.01 or 2.0 installation without any known issues.
Seems that Microsoft has hidden their tabs information with MSN Messenger, version 6.1. This means that it can’t be edited by the RantsTab application which thereby means that this project is on hold for the time being. I have seen a mini-application that patches the MSN Messenger’s EXE with new tabs, but that’s something I don’t want to get involved with; frankly, it’s a bit “dangerous” from a coding point of view. If RantsTab returns in a new version, you’ll read it here first!
Went shopping today after seeing the special CompUSA is running on the new Motorola phone that’s running Microsoft‘s SmartPhone software. They’re offering it for $299, with a $50 rebate, plus another $50 rebate if you turn in an old phone, with an SD card of music, a mail in offer for some Office document viewers and a Jabra EasySpeak Bluetooth headset. After the rebates and net worth of the Jabra set, I think the phone ends up being $20. What’s it like? Pretty freakin’ good actually and I’m a bit surprised by that. As I’ve mentioned before, I leased a new Jetta last month, turning in my 2001 Passat early, for a cheaper lease payment. The Jetta has been a lot of fun but it’s not without its problems. On this, the day of my sixth trip back to the dealership, I find myself with yet another rental car and a dire case of leaser’s remorse. I warn you that this is a long story, even by my definition, but I consider this therapy to get it all out there at this point… Continue reading Driver Wanted – Repairs Be Done!→
Heard about Ghettopoly on the news the other day and almost pissed m’self. Of course, it’s causing all types of outrage. Having heard that, I opted to check it out, to see what the outcry was – after all, the only people that should be pissed off about it is the makers of Monopoly for copyright infringement. Continue reading Ghettopoly→
This a minor – but highly recommended – update to SharpMT and Pocket SharpMT 2.0. The 2.01 release makes a couple of minor fixes to the MT-RPC communication layer that should improve MT communication and a couple of UI modifications to the desktop version. The 2.01 version can be installed over an existing 2.0 copy without any known issues – all existing settings should be OK. I’m also hoping it fixes compatibility issues with dasBlog.
As anyone that knows me can tell you, I’m a huge fan of the iPod. I’ve had one since its first release (when it was Mac only) and have been using XPlay to sync my music to and from my PC. While this has been very working well for over a year – and I hate that music application that Apple included with the Windows version – iTunes 4.1 for Windows came out from Apple this week, so I thought I’d take a look at it. Sadly, Mac-formatted iPods do not work with iTunes for Windows, so I had to make a choice… it’s all working now, but what did I do? Continue reading iTunes for Windows→
Wow… so, like this was not the first item for sale, at Fox Sports tonight, but it was still available after the 11th inning… just another thing they screwed up during this post season:
Way back when, I opted to get rid of my 12″ PowerBook and Switch-Back to a Windows based notebook in the form of a Sony Z1A. Having gone through CompUSA, they stood by their products in getting me the Z1A, but I found myself with a three year AppleCare contract but without an Apple product. I had read online that you could request a pro-rated refund on the warrantee so I contact Apple about it and many months later they finally got around to addressing the issue. Pedro throws down Zim in a baseball fight?! Zim is a 70+ year old man that has been in baseball for over five decades. Pedro – known for beaning batters as much as Clemens – tells the bench that he’ll bean them in the head, from the mound, yet doesn’t get tossed. He’s also a cock-gobbling cry baby that whines about flu like symptons in August, when he’s getting shelled by whole teams at a time, and needs to be suspended for 4 games.
I’m all for organizations that help the needy. I’ve donated to the September 11th fund and countless other organizations that send me a yearly envelope for donations. I give my clothing to Good Will rather than throwing it out when it’s still wearable but might not fit me anymore. I’ve donated to both my former high school and college, almost on a yearly basis. I buy a poppy for Memorial Day and give cash to armies, scouts, cubs, cheerleaders, and other retail store front collections. Tonight I got a call from the Shriners and they will never get a red cent from me again. Continue reading Shriners: Screw you→
Over the weekend I was driving down a major local road and nearly had an accident. I was in my Jetta and going down a left-turn-only lane, past a bunch of cars that were stuck behind a slow moving tanker in the right lane. As I was turning left, I was where I was supposed to be, but a guy that was stuck in the slow traffic opted to change lanes. He cut out in front of me, sans signal of course – hell, he didn’t even look in the lane! – causing me to swerve and stay on the other side of the road, while he took off down the left-turn-only lane. He still ended up behind the tanker, and was sworn at in at least three languages, and I got out unscathed aside from a rare bit of road rage. I do take some solace in the fact that stupid drivers are found everywhere, as BWG points out.
This marks the “official” 2.0 release of SharpMT and Pocket SharpMT. It’s been quite a long while since I’ve found any bugs in it and even longer that anyone else has. If this is your first look at SharpMT (or your first look at 2.0) take a look at the following information:
So I went to the last game of the regular season this past Sunday at Yankee Stadium. My father got us all some great, great seats – it was supposed to be my parents, my sister and I – in the main box section by home plate… the good seats, with padded backs and waitress service and are up behind the Yankees dugout. My parents bailed on the game after they saw the 70% chance of rain that was schedule for the entire day but my sister and I decided to take a shot. It was a very, very memorable game, but not for the reasons you think! Continue reading Excuse Me – You’re in my Seat→
